We’re proud to celebrate the successful conclusion of the Learning Forward Summer Programme 2026, where our students explored a diverse range of career pathways through workplace visits, professional sharing sessions and a job shadowing experience.

From July 11 to 17, 2026, students took part in a dynamic week of career exploration, featuring 10 workplace visits and one job shadowing opportunity. Across the programme, students stepped into real workplaces, met professionals from different fields, and gained first-hand insights into the working world. 24 industry leaders generously shared their professional experiences, career journeys and perspectives with the next generation.

Throughout the programme, students explored a wide range of industries, including law and legal services, public service and government, accounting and professional services, finance and wealth management, property & customer experience, arts and culture, museums, technology and innovation, entrepreneurship and digital product development, career planning and heritage and community development.

More than simply learning about different jobs, students were encouraged to ask questions, engage with professionals and reflect on the skills, values and choices behind different career paths. These experiences helped them broaden their horizons, discover new possibilities and think more deeply about their future studies and career aspirations.

From Exploration to Inspiration

Learning Forward goes beyond introducing students to different careers. By meeting professionals and experiencing real workplace environments, students are encouraged to look beyond what they already know, ask questions and discover new possibilities for themselves.

For young people who may have had fewer opportunities to gain first-hand exposure to different professions, these experiences can open new perspectives and help make the world of work feel more accessible and within reach. Each conversation, visit and experience offers a different perspective, helping students broaden their aspirations, build confidence and approach their future studies and career choices with greater curiosity and purpose

A Heartfelt Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to all the mentors, industry leaders, organisations and partners who generously shared their time, knowledge and experiences with our students. Your support opened doors to new perspectives and possibilities.

We are also inspired by our students for their curiosity, enthusiasm and courage to explore new paths.

We look forward to welcoming more schools and industry partners to join us in creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation.

Together, let’s inspire, empower and remind every young person: No career is out of your reach.

Through my visit to Sun Museum, I gained a broader understanding of the arts and cultural sector, including the roles, responsibilities and career pathways of museum professionals. The speakers also shared valuable insights and patiently answered our questions.

At the Hong Kong Resource Centre for Heritage, I discovered more about Hong Kong’s history and was fascinated by the building’s unique architecture and former use as a maternity hospital. I also learned about the importance of preserving and promoting our cultural heritage.

These experiences broadened my understanding of different careers and deepened my appreciation of cultural heritage. I hope to pursue a career I am passionate about and carry out my responsibilities with dedication.

In the future, I hope to study BBA at Lingnan University and pursue a career in accounting and finance. This summer programme exposed me to different fields, with the AIA mentor sharing having the greatest impact on me.

The Legislative Council visit helped me understand how Legislative Council Members engage with the community and government, while the law firm visit broadened my understanding of the legal profession beyond courtroom work. These experiences also helped me see the connections between finance and other professions.

The AIA sharing further challenged my assumptions about the insurance industry and introduced me to new perspectives on career and life. Overall, the programme broadened my horizons and encouraged me to consider social and financial issues from different perspectives rather than relying on first impressions.

Name: K.S.F

Grade: F.2

Over the past few days, I visited different workplaces and learned a lot about various careers.

On the first day, I visited a law firm. I initially thought it would be like what I see in TV dramas, with only lawyers working there and a relaxed atmosphere. However, seeing the workplace firsthand showed me that the work is very different. Lawyers are busy and have many responsibilities to handle.

These visits gave me a better understanding of different careers and helped me see the workplace beyond what I had imagined. I hope to join similar activities again and continue learning about different professions.
